Photo every hour (ish): Groundhogs Day

Here is one photo for almost every hour of Saturday. Unfortunately, I'm still feeling sick so it hasn't been very exciting lately. Hopefully I start to feel better soon because this is going to be a pretty big week.
9: I woke up and prepared for the day by eating toast with cheese and apple slices. The news was on in the background while I waited to see if the groundhog saw his shadow. He didn't see it so superstition says spring will be coming early.
10: Headed uptown to meet Robin on the steps of the Met. We were both freezing when we arrived, so hopefully the groundhog was right.
11: We were walking through the Matisse exhibit where photography was forbidden. I can tell you though, that it was beautifully curated and it was incredible to see his works, not as one final piece, but the evolution of his paintings as a series.
12: Tea in the American wing and milling around the medieval armor and weapons.
1: I stopped at the supermarket on the way home and picked up some things for soup.
2: Answered emails and read blogs for almost 2 hours but hardly moved from the couch in all that time.
6: Rich's car broke down when he was driving here and while I was worrying, didn't take a picture. He finally got here and had to make phone calls for awhile. I was just happy that he was alright.
7: We went to Sweet Afton for drinks where I had hot apple cider and Rich had a beer.
8. Then dinner at Butcher Bar for steak and potatoes. It was so good to have something better than soup for the first time in days. It started snowing a little on the walk home which was really pretty too.
9. While I was washing up in the bathroom, Rich pulled the couch into the middle of the room and set it up like a little movie theater. We watched Hugo and I thought it was the most beautiful movie I've seen in forever.

  1. You have the prettiest eyes! Which reminds me, I obviously have darker skin but my eye color is a tad similar, and I've always wondered what black hair, rather than the dark brown I already have, might do to my eye color! Is your hair originally black?

  2. Aw thank you! I was thinking I look terrible there, my eyes have the worst circles since I've been sick. My natural hair color is like a light reddish brown, this is right before I dyed it black http://www.flickr.com/photos/21672994@N02/7238868556/in/set-72157631902852025/
As long as you used a semi permanent, like 28 washes, its pretty safe to experiment if you already have dark hair. I like the contrast with my skin and eyes, it just a bit cleaner than my brown hair which can look a bit ashy in certain lights.

  11. Aw, Hugo was gorgeous! Although I thought it was kind of in a weird place between kids' movie and adults' movie so I didn't know quite how I was meant to react to it. Still, it was very pretty!

You do look sick... rest up and have more soup lady! And hot apple cider of course!
Also, Hugo was really good. It made me want to go and watch all those old movies. :)

  14. I got it for Christmas when I was 18 from Urban Outfitters when it was still new and edgy at my local mall.
Ahh I know, I'd love to see them!
