Uniform of Summer Days

Its so hard to get motivated to dress well in the summer. On the weekends I've mostly been wearing cut-off's and old band tee shirts from high school over a bathing suit and calling it a day. During the week since I have work I've got to try a little bit harder, but I've developed a summer uniform of sorts that has been working out quite well: Vintage dress + sandals + sweater for the office.
Most of the time I don't even bother accessorizing, and its not that I don't want to, its that I don't really have many accessories. I think I'm going to go to the flea market and remedy that, but for now here is a glimpse at my summer uniform.
Anyone else hit that midsummer laziness when it comes to getting dressed?

  2. So many of my interesting outfits include several layers so I tend to simplify a lot over summer too, you look lovely though, that shade of pink looks lovely on you xo

Hey Kallie! You look great :) Yeah I have a summer uniform too, full skirt, whatever top is clean, and a cardigan for work.

I love the white sweater, I need to find more like that for fall. I have always leaned towards cardigans, but you make this look really cute! Also, thanks for tweeting your posts. The blogs I am following on GFC never show up on my blogger dash and I forget to read up on my fave blogs. I hate blogger sometimes.

  4. I have the same problem! Actually, I went on a Sara-binge and read like 40-something entries of your blog!! Your engagement photos were so amazing. I think it was because I saw a tweet from you and was like, OMG I haven't been to her blog in forever bc my GFC sucks.
I hate blogger all the time. I'm considering a new platform for 2013, but we shall see.

  6. Oh I also am a lazy summer dresser. I'm about my layers, so when it's too hot for them, I get a little lost.

  7. I know exactly what you mean, I've had the summer lazies when it comes to dressing as well. But your weekday summer uniform is lovely! That's such a beautiful dress - absolutely perfect for office wear.

  8. What a beautiful outfit, it's very summer appropriate but also perfect for the colder nights. I have essentially worn the same few summer dresses during the weekdays so I know what you mean! I usually love wearing sweaters and coats so summertime is tough to dress for! x

  9. Super cute, I kind of enjoy the mid-summer weekend laziness outfits though :)  I try to dress decently at the office, but on the weekend it's anything goes.

  11. I've totally reached mid summer outfit  laziness for sure.  Jean shorts and t-shirts are my staple on weekends too.  Doesn't get too much more exciting than that.  lol!

Maybe if I had some awesome blue laced up shoes I'd feel like dressing up a bit more.... hmmm....

  12. I'm always so lazy in the summer-- for me, it's a dress, flats, and maybe-- MAYBE--- a belt. It's just too hot for anything else, you know?

Anyhow, you look lovely, and I'd gladly adapt your summer uniform.

  13. Yep - I've definitely got a case of the sartorial summer lazies. Except for today, when I managed to put together an outfit I've never worn before. (I was so proud, haha!) I don't think you need to worry too much about it, as it's a classic combination :)

  17. Cute outfit. I can totally relate to summer laziness especially with it being so freakishly hot here!! I also have an accessories problem, even when I think or want to buy some I forget to wear them or end up taking em off. I'm a minimalist at heart I guess.

  18. that's such a pretty vintage dress the best part is it doesn't even look lazy! i try to consciously only buy dresses that i know i can just throw on and won't really have to accessorise or do much at all because the dress makes the outfit on it's own. they work perfectly for really hot days or for when you're rushed in the mornings. :)

  21. I'm definitely super lazy getting dressed in the summer. It's hard to be comfortable when it's a billion degrees outside. I also find that if I'm not leaving the house I won't even put on real clothes. It's so bad! You look incredibly cute in your summer work outfit though. I love the sweater layered over your pretty dress.
