Ocean Wind

On New Year's Day Rich surprised me with a trip out to Montauk on Long Island's south fork where we stayed in a cozy cabin on the beach. While we were snug inside with a small fire, a little home cooked feast and a few bottles of wine there was a terrible downpour and freezing wind. The night was spent poking at the fire and cuddling on the couch watching Star Wars. In my opinion I can't think of anything more romantic (including my sweet boyfriend who understands my inability to resist watching Episode IV when its airing).
In the morning after being half-blinded by the sunlight pouring into the cabin and eating a massive breakfast we strolled over to the beach and took a walk on the sand. I skipped around and made Rich take some outfit pictures for me even though I knew I was basically wearing pajamas and boots. When the wind started knocking me off that log I scurried back into my coat and scarf because despite the sunlight it was freezing. I gave Rich a million kisses and thanked him for our surprise trip and then we headed back home.
Uniqlo denim shirt, Free People sweater dress, American Apparel leggings, Doc Marten boots, vintage purse, men's JCrew Timex watch that I gave to Rich for Christmas (and borrowed!)

  3. An outfit post is warranted whenever you feel yourself in something.  I was even thinking of doing a pyjamas post the other day (but was way too lazy).  This sounds completely romantic and completely wonderful Kallie.

  4. I'm in love with this post. I'm totally that girl that gets starry-eyed when I here the word "Montauk" because I just think of Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. Your boyfriend is so sweet to take you!

  8. Noooo stop.  My favorite place in the world.  Montauk holds more magic for me than any other place I think- just so many memories.  The weather is always so unpredictable out there too... perfect for Star Wars. :]

  9. What a fun, romantic trip! Sounds absolutely perfect for getting cozy and watching something delightfully nerdy :) I've wanted to go to Montauk ever since I first saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, so I'm glad to hear that it's as lovely as I imagine it to be.

  10. I actually live in the town next to the one Clem and Jim Carey (sorry can't remember his character's name) lived in in the movie.

Kallie, that is so romantic! Your boyfriend is a keeper!
And unlike everyone else, when I hear Montauk, I think of Bayside because they have a song called Montauk!

Your boyfriend sounds so sweet. I hope that one day I find one as lovely.

That outfit is made awesome by the boots and the shirt. I have been looking for a denim shirt forever, but it's so hard to find one.
