Mod-Star

This is another outfit from last week, when I channelled my inner Mod-star girl in a close-fitted mini dress and sleek leather boots. As Mary Quant was known to do I matched the patterned tights to the dress's little round buttons at the neckline. Its a bit more business like than I usually go for work, but some days I just need to have the fun of putting together an outfit that reminds me of another time, and my other side. Instead of endless emails and meetings, I could have been running to catch the train to hear some music in a coffee shop or perched on a Vespa in search of adventure and style.
Karen Zambos belted dress, vintage locket and bag, H&M tights, Dolce Vita boots, Old Navy sweater

  8. The vespa adventures sound good! :) I can totally imagine you with all the cool mod guys, dancing the night away!

The colour of the dress reminds me of coffee and nougats, which is lovely, and I love the tights!

on a totally unrelated note, I love your quilt! I make quilts which look nothing like standard quilts but I'm still obsessed with quilts of all kinds.
But to stay on track that dress is really excellent.

  14. So adorable! I'm swooning over that blue dress hanging up behind you...have you done an outfit post with that dress before?

  15. No. It will unfortunately only fit someone who weighs about 15 pounds. My mom thrifted it in the 90's and alas, it fits no one.

You look pretty!!! I love this dress, and I'm jealous of those tights. Once upon a time I had polka-dotted tights, and then they ripped.

  17. You look amazing, and I love how you have your pretty dresses hanging up on the wall - if it wasn't for the fact that I live with a boy, I'd do the same! Have you posted any photos of you wearing that gorgeous blue dress? I'd love to see it properly!

  23. I adore this outfit. You're so ridiculously gorgeous.

How are you able to take your photos indoors?

  24. Well, that is a giant bummer. Looks lovely on display, though!

  25. Middle of the day on a Saturday (yea I just got out of my pjs to take this pic) with the shades up and white cotton curtains to make the light less harsh. Email me, we can talk light schematics. Indoor lighting is my worst enemy and the reason I want to quit blogging like 2 times a week in the winter.
