Red wine boots

Last week my new boots arrived and they brought the cold weather with them. To brave the chill and inevitable snowy slush I bought Doc Marten's in shiraz. Instead of the classic style I've tried before and had terrible luck with, I bought the Pascal which are made of a softer, more supple leather on top of classic slip-proof rubber soles. The vivid wine color stands out against grey skies and makes me feel bright and warm inside (and my toes are toasty too!).
The trouble I've had with them come down to sizing, since they don't come in half sizes. These seem to fit differently than the classic boots though, and after just a few wears are already broken in. They are a bit longer and the toe-box is thinner, so I bought a size down from my usual one and took out the inner sole to create a perfect fit.
On Saturday I bummed around the house gardening, watching movies and reading blogs without makeup in a cozy sweater and my new boots.
H&M blouse, AA sweater, BDG pants, Tiffany star necklace, Doc Marten Pascal's in Shiraz

  3. The boots are really cool and such a nice color. You definitely pull them off well in this casual outfit. Plus you look incredibly pretty without makeup too!

  6. I'm loving your hair so much I thought about getting bangs myself, but then I realized how impossible that is -- you're young and cute and I'm not.  Oh well...

  7. Its so funny because I already can't stand them and am growing them out. They are really annoying when I have to, you know, see stuff.

  8. ahhh! You got them. I have been umming and ahhing about getting a pair of Doc's. I fear it would bring me back to much to my angsty teen years. Those look rad, especially dressed all cozy..that red is such a good color. I bet they would look awesome with your red lipstick too. xx

  10. I sort of went back and forth until finally my other lace up boots started falling apart and I was like "Must have sturdy shoes that last more than a year"

  13. they look lovely. my husband has oxblood looking docs that are similar (maybe the same) in color. He has the 4 hole ones though (but he also has 2 other different types of Docs as well. I have 1 pair of maryjanes which is my second pair of that type [my dog chewed my old pair 8 years ago when she was a pup], and I used to have a pair of 8-holed black boots for 8 years that cut up my feet because I was supposed to go up a half size but didn't want to stop wearing them). they don't make half sizes anymore?? my boots were an 8.5 but then again I was in middle school when I got them. I think they are some of the greatest types of shoes ever. They make them differently since I bought a new pair so I don't know how they are these days, but I just think they are so wonderful!! I love yours!!! It makes me miss my boots I had like crazy. back in 1993 I wanted a 20-hole pair of boots, but now I'm glad I never got them, although my friend has a red pair of 20-hole she got married in a few years ago and they are lovely. wow. I like docs. they last long. I'll shut up now.
