Holiday feeling

Lately I haven't been feeling excited for the holiday. Friday was supposed to be a day off for me, but I'm doing a mock presentation and it was rescheduled for that morning so now I have to go in even though the reason for taking the day was so I wouldn't have to worry about missing a flight to see my dad. Its so silly, but I feel like crying when I think about it. Blogging has taken a bit of a backseat too, which I hate, because I really enjoy having something creative to do in my free time. Even little photo shoots and writing a tiny blurb keeps my brain from melting.
The Christmas tree is set up in my living room with no lights or ornaments which gets me down when I look at it.
Did I mention the awful weather?
Anyway, since my tree isn't decorated and I'm too tired to play dress up, here are some of my favorite pictures from last Christmas. Crossing my fingers for snow and listening to the She & Him Christmas album helps too.

  3. So many cute pictures from last Christmas season. I hope you get time to decorate your tree soon as a bare tree sounds no fun at all! I've been enjoying the She & Him Christmas album too. I'm sure it'll cheer you up a bit.

  5. Aw, I'm sorry you're feeling glum Kallie. Things will look up, promise. Also, my tree is severely over decorated, so you can steal some of our ornaments if you want.

  6. I know how it is, lovely lady - I have exams which finish on the 21st and then start again on the 5th Jan...not really conducive to getting into the Christmas spirit! Why don't you have a glass of mulled wine and put on "It's a Wonderful Life"? If that doesn't cheer you up then I'll eat my hat!

  8. I think it was around last Christmas I started reading your blog regularly, and I remember all those pictures.  I adored, and still adore, your beautiful red and green dresses.  Sorry about your presentation... I hate when things like that happen, but I'm sure you won't miss your flight.

Ugh. It just started hailing here.

  11. I'm sorry you haven't gotten into a festive mood yet.  Work is draining you too much.  Hopefully that will ease up.

These pictures from last year -- which I remember seeing when they were first posted -- were the hook that caught me and made me love your blog.  As you know, one of them was, in my view, worthy of being POTY.  I hope you can create new images soon.

  12. Awww I feel your pain. I'm having a real 'bah humbug' day too - and not cos I don't absolutely love Christmas just life is getting in the way of me paying homage to it like I normally do!! I hope your flight goes smoothly anyway & that your mock presentation goes well and last but not least you get some snow :)

  13. Aww, I know the feeling you're describing. It's not silly to feel like crying - sometimes it's just that ONE thing on top of everything else. Hang in there, and I hope all goes well.

I love Christmas but sometimes it takes me a while to get into the holiday spirit, what with all the craziness and hustle and bustle and materialism...

    Lovely photos :)

  17. Ugh.  I'm sorry Kal, that sucks about tomorrow.  I'm sure things will fall back into place soon but in the meantime sending you lots of hugs.  I was thinking that you should come visit me in NH sometime in the future because I am moving downtown soon and I will have my own place and we can have fun doing quaint New England things and drinking coffee and beers. xo
