Saturday I had a blissfully quiet and relaxing day. Here is a picture for every hour.
10AM: My mom asked me to mulch the garden beds where the garlic is growing. The fallen leaves and pine needles in the yard make a perfect covering for the bare soil. By laying some sticks across the tops of the bed's wooden walls, the leaves won't blow away easily and will protect the plants growing beneath it. The Christmas-red roses are looking lively still.11AM: Th patio was covered with leaves and sticks I used for mulch but I also set up the chiminea for a winter solstice bonfire. Now, to find some friends to trust me to build a big enough fire to keep warm by.Noon: I sat by the Christmas tree and watched an episode of Doctor Who while I ate eggs, toast and a few slices of sausage for brunch. 1PM: My glittery silver nails needed a touch-up with Duri "Celebrity Scandal" and Essie LuxeEffects "Set in Stone."2PM: I sat for a long time reading blogs at my desk. 3PM: As a break from reading blogs I re-laced my ice skates.4PM: Kick-Ass is on Netflix and I finally got around to watching it. While I watched I doodled and snacked on Clementines.5PM: Doodles of mice for my friend who asked for a mouse drawing for a blog project she's working on.6PM: When Rich got to my house I thought it would be cute (dorky) to take a photo under the mistletoe. He scooped me up while I was taking the photo, but its so much cuter like this, with me all taken by surprise.7PM: We went out for dinner at The Good Life in Massapequa. Not only is it one of my favorite places, but we haven't been out to eat in months. When we're both trying to save money (for Christmas presents in this case), we avoid restaurants and cook at home instead. 8PM: I drank this bottle of cider and stopped taking pictures.
Oh, this is a fun post. I really liked seeing your day!

ReplyDeleteAs I've said before, I love "Doctor Who", too. What did you think of "Kick-Ass"?
P.S., I once had an office in Massapequa; the town is only down the block from me (Rte. 110).
P.P.S., If you ever want a nice free dinner, let me take you and Rich out. I know all of the great restaurants on the Island.
