Friday night LK and I went into Manhattan for Robin's birthday party at The Belgian Room in the East Village. I'm aching to live in that neighborhood, it feels so brilliantly alive there.
We rode the train reading funny emails out loud, touching up our lipstick and drinking Redbulls.Garden gnome! I collect garden gnomes so it was a no-brainer what I would be drinking for the rest of the night.Lately my camera has been giving me some trouble, so it stayed tucked away in my purse for most of the night. Here are the revelers basking in the blur that is the birthday girl. When we left the bar and went to St. Marks Place for a taxi, I imagined in my head I lived on that street and where my apartment would be and how I would be able to hear everyones voices on the street carrying up to my apartment on nights like these. Then the clocks changed back so it felt much later than it was and we had to hurry home because I had to be up early the next morning for something very very exciting (more on that later!).
What a fun post, these pics are really pretty. It looks like the birthday party was a really fun time.

That's so awesome that you collect garden gnomes! I just love gnomes!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun night, I love gin cocktails! Your lipstick is a gorgeous colour! :)
ReplyDeleteThe red lipstick really works for you! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely with red lipstick.
ReplyDeletered lipstick looks amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteI used to hang out in The East Village back in the days when normal people could afford to live there (the Eighties). It's always been a fun, hopping place.
ReplyDeleteIf we ever meet in person, I'm going to give you a garden gnome!
Thanks to hours upon hours on craigslist, I've discovered that the rents are now the same (in some cases less) than Williamsburg. WTF. LIke a few years ago if I ever said to my mom "Yea, I'm going to live in Williamsburg Brooklyn" she would have been like "Hell no you're not."
ReplyDeleteI STILL HAVE TO MAIL YOU SOMETHING. I'm terrible...ugh. Keep a lookout.
You are so adorable!!
ReplyDeletehehe LIRR pictures... you make me nostalgic ;) looks like a fabulous nyc night!

Ooh, very pin-uppy picture, the first one. :)
ReplyDeleteYou collect garden gnomes? Finally someone collecting something unusual, it's not just me. :)
What do you collect!?
ReplyDeleteSnowglobes and Marilyn Monroe connected stuff. If I found a snowglobe with MM in it that would be the crown of my collection. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you display your gnomes? If yes, your garden must be the neighbourhood kids' favourite. :)
No way! They would totally steal them. They live in my house and are strategically placed in just about every room. If I see an MM snow globe I'm getting it for you!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet of you! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, your house must be like Snow White's then! I can see it in my mind's eye, really cool!
You should visit Austria, they have gnomes in every single garden. OK, every second one. But then it's never a stray gnome alone, but complete with little animals, ponds, houses... Austrians are very precise, even when it comes to garden gnomes! :)
You have such an old Hollywood beauty! I love those drink names, "The Mob Wife" is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAre you sending me a Marilyn Monroe snowglobe? :)
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, its better ;)
ReplyDeleteyou have such an amazing blog! love your style, and enjoyed looking through your posts. totally inspired.. although you look a lot younger than me. :) following you now... and hope we can stay connected!
ReplyDeletecheers!
