Black + tan

A few weeks ago I was asked to join a clothing swap by Lily of Love Charles Vintage to promote recycling clothes and to showcase that you can find high quality, beautiful clothing secondhand. Thrift stores like Goodwill, Salvation Army, Savers, etc. are the perfect places to find pretty basics. Whenever I need a cozy sweater I know that I can find a gently used Old Navy or Gap one there for far less than at the mall. The first item of the swap I'm going to share with you is one of those pieces and its my ideal basic top. I'm a stripe lover to the extreme (I counted 14 striped tops out of about 20 when I was organizing my closet the other night). Black and tan are quite versatile so I styled the top with a statement piece, where the neutral colors and simple pattern would let it shine.
Thrifted top via the swap, Fornarina skirt via ebay, H&M pumps, vintage clutch from Germany, BB Dakota jacket
How its been styled previously in the swap by Lily and Breanne.
The swap includes these stylish blogs:
Love Charles Vintage
Flattery
District of Chic
Hummingbird Girls
Mousevox Vintage
Missing Lovebirds
Selective Potential

  1. I associate you with stripes 'cause you wear them so well.  This skirt is amazing.  And the jacket is cool.  You'd look good on the back of my motorcycle!

  6. wow that skirt is amazing.  I have the hardest time finding stuff on ebay or I'll find something I love and then lose the auction at the last second...not fun.

  7. Love that outfit - so striking! Once again, I'm swooning over your skirt choice. You're making me want to run over to Goodwill right this second.

Goodwill is pretty much my favorite place to shop for basics. I went a little crazy a few weeks ago and bought six sweaters - but I didn't feel too bad, since I didn't pay more than $3.50 for any one of them :)

  8. EXACTLY! Lol, I do the same thing and I don't feel bad because when I get sick of them they usually go back to Goodwill too. Seriously, the best place for Gap sweaters...
