Friday Night recap

Sorry I've been a bit distant from the blog lately, I've just been really stressed out about a number of things. My job isn't shaping up to be what I thought it would, and after turning down another great job I'm feeling a bit scattered. If you read the blog you also know that I was recently in North Carolina visiting my dad which always leaves me in an emotional wasteland for weeks because I wish I could see my dad everyday (this leads to me avoiding him so I don't get more upset which further exacerbates the cycle...but enough psychology for today). Then, my car, which I go weeks without driving because I take my bike everywhere, needed $500 dollars worth of work. $500 dollars that I would have spent on a purse. It's a disgusting amount of money for one thing, but I'd much rather have spent it on something pretty than on brakes.
Anyway, last Friday night (which was actually before the whole car thing), LK and Rich came with me to Manhattan for my friend Adam's birthday party at Destination Bar on 2nd and Ave. A.
It was EXACTLY what I needed.
Here's how I looked: Topshop sweater, Betsey Johnson dress, Lucky brand boots
On the train we had beers and goofed around, and we met up with AJ at Penn Station and headed downtown to the bar.
Destination Bar has really cool jello shots with candies and fun flavors. I favored the fuzzy navel, but there were margaritas and PB&J flavors too.
Jade, my roommate from college came to meet us! I haven't seen her in weeks. Rich also bought me a rose, which I carried all night and is now sitting in a cup next to my bed. After this I put the camera away and spent the night catching up with everyone.

  3. Oh, that all sounds rather sad about your dad. : (  I miss my family all the time, when I'm with members of them I realize how everything I am makes sense in some way...

It's good to catch up with friends, and good to put cameras away a while...

  13. Your daisy dress is so cute with the green pullover! Good friends and family make everything better...and it's hard to have a close family member out of state. My mom is living in Colorado right now, and we really miss seeing each other all the time.

  14. urch! I feel you with that dad thing. It's the same for me. I'm terrible at phone calls and everything when I'm back home too. Anyways, this is a pretty simple outfit and I love it. You cant go wrong with a big print like that. I hope things look up this week

  15. Hey!  I recognize that train!

Seriously, sorry about your troubles.  Life can be hard.  And unpleasant.  Car repairs suck.  Every time I have a few bucks saved up, something else breaks and needs repair.  The Gods of Suburbia never let us get ahead.

Looking on the brighter side, your skirt is adorable!

  17. I've just returned sort of from a long blog-break so I can understand what you mean...
Let's hope things will only get better! :)

And... You look great and you have great times with your friends! :)

Random comment: your quilt is seriously snuggly-looking, it makes me wanna lie down with a cup of tea and a book right now. :)

  20. There has been more than enough stress in my life as well, which contributes to my lack of blogging lately too.  I've hardly been on the internet lately, besides the various facespace updates from my phone.  Shoot me an email and update me on your life, lady.  I miss you! xox
