I fell into you now you're gracefully falling away

This will be my last post with the summer tag.
It's a little sad, but when we headed west toward New York when vacation was over it was a drive straight into fall. By the time we reached home the light outside was autumnal, my mom was making soup in the kitchen, the windows were closed and I had my sweater buttoned up.
What a summer I've had. There was the whole incident where I hated my blog and needed a break and to tell you the truth of it, almost quit. Then I designed a new banner and jumped right back in. I had my one year anniversary at my job. Travelled around with Rich to Boston and to the North Fork. A million and five barbecues, middle of the night bike rides and a hurricane party.
As for clothes...well I pretty much gave up this summer and wore whatever I could find that was comfortable in the heat. Last summer I tried to be fashionable, but this year I just opted for soft cotton dresses, rompers, shorts and sandals every day in endless combinations.
Last weekend it was 85 degrees and it felt like summer would never end.
American Apparel shorts, BDG blouse via Buffalo Exchange, vintage belt, UO sunnies

  4. I'm so glad you didn't quit blogging. You're one of my favs. <3
Sad to see summer go, but bravo to autumn! Tonight was the first night at work I had to walk out in the dark! Eeep! Scary when you work at a place where you're taking money from men who have to come because they're been court ordered to seek help for their domestic violence! And when you have a history of stalkers as I do! Or maybe I'm just paranoid. Either way. . .

  5. I love your writing, the last sentence is so haunting.
Very fitting to the melancholy of saying goobdye to summer.

You look lovely in the sea though. :) And I'm very glad you didn't give up on the blog, I wouldn't have known you otherwise! :)

  8. Autumn is coming soon though! And though it's sad how quick summer goes by, it'll be nice to wear giant sweaters and see the leaves change colors. Love your shorts b.t.w.!

  10. Purty photes.  Good thing you didn't quit blogging, I would of keeled u.  This summer was a bit of a bummer for me because I didn't get to do half the fun summery things I wanted to, but I'm so so excited for Fall.  Also I don't want to wear summer clothes anymore at all.  Fall clothes are better.  Are you wearing your new sweater every day??

  13. To me, summer is all about the casual prettiness and the goodness of a great dress (um, fashion wise that's what it's all about I mean).  It's absolutely my favourite season and I expect that actually makes me un-fashionable since I only really like dressing simply.  Ok, major "I just woke up ramble."  Point is, I've loved your blog since you came back from your blogging break; so glad you didn't quit.  I periodically hate my blog too, so I know all about wanting to throw in the towel.

AND, more important than all the fashion stuff... I'm glad you had a nice summer!

  14. I always seem to feel like summer is never ending because I live in Georgia. I'm hoping for an early fall this year! You looked so cute in all your summer clothes. They were simple and perfect!
