Cause its root root root for the home team

Halfway through the day on Wednesday I kept thinking I had to do something after work. Just before lunch someone asked me the date and as I said it I remembered that I had tickets to the Mets game for 7pm! Good thing I remembered then, or I might have completely forgotten. After work I got home as fast as I could and changed into my Mets colors (orange Marc Jacobs shirt and royal blue AA shorts) and we took off for the game. We had our own mini-tailgate on the back of Rich's truck in the parking lot with some pizza and beer we packed. Its too bad they don't announce the score loud enough to keep up with the game outside the stadium though. I had been to Shea Stadium about 100 times before they tore it down. It was one of my favorite places as a kid, even though it kind of reminded me of a parking garage. Inside CitiField I felt like a little kid again. There was so much to look at and you can walk an entire loop around the field to see the game at every angle. The Mets aren't exactly the best team, but being there was so exciting. They even won! Trust me, this is news because I feel like every time I've seen them play they've lost.
Mini-tailgate!

A little reminder of the Mets' old home
My "skeptical they'll win" face or my "I hope that's a good pic you just took, Rich" face
Let's go Mets!

  2. It is really fun going to sporting events!  I saw Barça play last year, and even though they were just playing some third division team from Morocco and most of the big stars weren't there, it was just amazing being in the stadium.

Thanks by the way. ; )  I'm not chilled out at all, but hopefully soon!

  3. Yay!  They won 'cause you were there. :)

I miss Shea, too.  I spent my whole childhood there.  Of course, they lost every time I went so seeing the Mets win is an odd experience.

You and Rich look really cute in these pictures.  Especially cute.  Happiness is attractive.

  5. Yes! I finally got Disqus. It took so long because I made a mistake the first time and it messed up my blog for a few weeks.
You're so sweet that you think I'm winking! I think I'm being mean to my boyfriend haha.

  9. I love going to baseball games in the summer! It's such a perfectly summery thing to do! My boyfriend and I are Pirates fans, so I can relate to the feeling of never really seeing them win, although this summer we did for the first time, too!

  20. Well I saw that you said you were taking down the anonymous questions on your tumblr which you said you'd do if people got out of line. I was worried.
Sheesh you're too sweet. In person I'm like a super salty old man.

  23. Holy crap, I can't believe how huge that stadium is! I'm used to going to games at Fenway, which is teenie tiny, haha. I love baseball games though! Yummy food, beer, sitting outside at night...ahhh. :)

  24. your top is so nice. My brother is a Mets fan (all his life). My parents like the Yankees though. ugh (though my dad was originally a Brooklyn Dodgers fan until they moved across country haha). I'm not a typical N. NJ person though since I've always loved the Brewers and my other brother is an Orioles fan and we both tend to not like NY/NJ teams at all.

Glad you had a good time together!!!

  25. Man, I love a good baseball game!  I haven't been in quite a while. Even though I'm not SUPER into baseball, there is something about cheering along with a whole stadium of people and relaxing as you watch.  That blouse is SUPER cute by the way!
