Hey, there goes Cinderella

Well, its a few days late but here is Monday's outfit. I spent the day thinking about how I would write a cheesy post about my new blue suede shoes but on the way home from dinner at Le Cirque someone had another idea. In a subway path under Times Square man yelled to his friends, "There goes Cinderella! Look at her in her glass slippers." Blue suede; glass? The same I guess. I've really never been one to get thoughtful about a catcall from a creeper in the subway, but I have to admit I sort of saw his point. The Rogers and Hammerstein version of Cinderella movie with the brunette Lesley Ann Warren in the title role popped into my head immediately. Its not all platinum blonde cinder-girls you know. So though I hate being yelled at by strangers, this was kind of a compliment (probably not--just go with it) here is my Cinderella work outfit from Monday.
PS-Things have gotten a little slow around here because I'm brainstorming about the blog and the direction I want to take it in and the design and whatnot. Please tell me what you think, what you like, don't like. Be honest. Thanks!
Anthropologie dress (they have the BEST sales ever), UO/Kimchi Blue Sandals, Leather bag from Nogales Mexico, vintage bumblebee pin and locket, 80,000 bug bites c/o my backyard

  3. That dress is such a pretty shade of yellow! When I saw your title with the dress I thought of that old jumping rope rhyme: "Cinderella, dressed in yellow, went upstairs to kiss a fellow..." The blue shoes are also gorgeous. And I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I love your bee pin!

  4. What a nice mix, I absolutely like the shoes, the bag and the dress! I nearly don't read fashion blogs, but I love yours! My blog is more a mix, about nice places, DIY... but I love fashion and to have a look to a little number of fashion blogs like yours! Whatever direction you chose feel comfortable and don't lose your spirit! :)

  5. ah! that dress is so excellent :) not sure that i get the cinderella reference, but who knows what kinds of schizo cross-referencing goes on in the mind of a creepy cat-caller :p in other news, i actually did wear a pair of "glass slippers" to my junior prom. but they were more like plexiglass platforms. yeah, i had style...

  6. That dress is amazing, the arrows! It reminds me of a 1950s zodiac dress. The bee brooch goes ratehr well with it too.

  8. That dress is beautiful. Loving the intricate design in the front. And gosh, I didn't know you had a feather tattoo! How darling. I totally want that leather bag of yours. I've been on the hunt for the perfect one for half a year already. haha

Hmm..what exactly do you mean by the direction of your blog? I do like the variety in it (with the places you go to and your outfits and whatnot) because it's not the same thing over and over again. My suggestion is that if you wanna do it, then do it. Don't wanna waste your time blogging something that you don't like. :)

  10. That is such a cool dress! I love the arrow detailing on the bust and the bright yellow color. Catcalls are totally lame, but at least you got an interesting/semi-creative one? I think being called cinderella for wearing awesome shoes is much better than just being whistled at. Positive thinking!

  12. Yellow and blue for me is always reminding me about the swedish flag. But I kind of adored this one, despite my strong national vibes.

  14. I was like "where on earth did she find that dress" assuming it was a vintage gem, stoked to find out it was from anthropologie. It's so pretty. As are your glass slippers, cinderella...haha! I love it

  15. That dress is awwwesome. Such a cool military-meets-cinderalla motif on the front. Probably just as well I don't live in the States; the sales would kill me.

P.S. Know of any jobs in New York that would take me? ; D

  16. You look beautiful!
I think it's cute--- as far as catcalls go, anyhow. You're *definitely* Antastesia, though, even though she isn't a real Disney princess.

I love your tattoo, by the way. I was actually planning on getting a feather on my hip bone!

I adore the arrow detail on your dress, your bumble bee brooch and tooled bag and of course your blue suede too! Awesome all around :)

I always love your outfit posts - must admit I cant think of a thing I'd change about the format but I am sure you'll work out something lovely :)

  21. EEK I love this post SO much. I just did a blue + yellow outfit post except I looked more like myself as a 90s tween than a beautiful princess. :/ That dress is lovely! So are the shoes! So is your tattoo! Also, I love every single thing about your blog so I have no suggestions but I'm sure any changes you make will be awesome possum. xoxoxo
