In June I finally left the job I had teaching pre-K after talking about it all year but kept my office assistant job while I was looking for something new. There was so much free time, but my heart wasn't in blogging and I needed to step away. My friend Ida and I had a million late-night talks about starting our careers. A few weeks after she got a job and was sent to Germany to train for it, a few weeks later I got my job in New York City. When she came back to New York she stayed in my house, and we even started at our new jobs on the same day.
After that my blog started to go in a new direction with adventures, friends and taking outfit pictures. Its my scrapbook of my life right now and its also a place where I can get inspiration for art and writing projects. My outfit posts make me feel like I'm sharing ideas for how to dress for a first job, and have really helped me develop a style for work.
On to some pictures...
In my hiatus from blogging I went to the beach a lot because I was only working part time and ate future snacks to help my future! I do regret not surfing, but sometimes relaxing in the sand takes precedence.

Before I knew it August had already come and I had been working in my job for almost a month, blogging mostly about my outfits. One of the highlights of this month was seeing Primus with my friends and dancing all night.

Then I threw a summer party in my backyard and got silly with my friends. Around this time I quit Facebook and suddenly I had to call my friends to know what was going on with them. It was such a wonderful reconnection to real life.

The summer drifted away on a lazy tide of delicious beer, sunny lunches in Bryant Park, and long evenings visiting the beach.

When the weather started to turn to fall I went to visit Penn State again and see my best friend there. Juli and I decided that weekend to start a Tumblr so we could share things like we did on
our refrigerator when we were roommates.

Back in the New York, someone was trying to win my affection. I was really trying to focus on my career and my heart was in no condition to be falling for someone but finding flowers in my bike when I got off the train one night started to melt the ice a bit.

On a rainy fall night LK, Rich and I went to the pub, and we lined up all our ducks in a row.

There was a rooftop picnic of fishbowls and burgers with Brianna and Ida.

We enjoyed a fall heat wave with a picnic in Brooklyn.

My mom and I went to the Long Island Fair and I made friends with a little pony.

Rich took me and his friends out to eastern Long Island to go pumpkin picking and a corn maze, and to a brewery in Greenport. This trip made me realize how much I really liked him.

The weather got cold and I spent long evenings reading in my room.

Sam came home from Paris with her boyfriend and it was so good to be altogether again with my best friends from high school. (Kim, me, Lynn, Sam. Perfect.)

The next night I had a small party and Sam brought wine and cheeses from France.

I went to a NY by FORK event on the Intrepid with my mom where we met Leonard Lopate from NPR and Mark Bitman who writes for the NY Times.

The most perfect Thanksgiving dinner ever.

Rich and I visited the tree at Rockefeller Center and spent the day wandering around Manhattan, but we were cranky because we work there and it was crowded. I spent a good chunk of the day cranky because I was fighting my feelings for him.

I got into the Christmas spirit in December by decorating our house.

Ahh Snowpocalypse on the East Coast! At least the birds were OK.

And that was most of my 2010, of course there was a very exciting New Year's Eve I will share with you soon. This past year was filled with so many great things and changes, I can only hope that 2011 is just as wonderful. Happy New Year!!
