Gogol Bordello, Primus, and an epic nap

Friday night after work I went with some friends to Williamsburg Waterfront to see Gogol Bordello and Primus. It was the most beautiful night. We only caught one song of Gogol Bordello, but then we had time to wander around the beer garden before Primus started. After running into some old friends and saying hello, we finished up our drinks and headed into the crowd to dance. There were so many people around our group who were moving to the music but didn't want to go for it and full out dance. I made sure to invite them dance and hang with us. It ended up that a lot of people really wanted to join us! Afterwards we walked over to a restaurant called Lodge where we had the most amazing french fries and organic chicken fingers and I took a very needed nap.
Since we had missed Gogol I can't really form any kind of opinion. I have seen them a few other times before though and they never fail to provide whirling-dirvish-stomping-singing fun so lets just go with that for Friday night.
Seeing Primus was excellent. I always liked their sound, but never enough to download anything by them. It was always sort of enjoying their sound from afar. Once I got up close and heard Les Claypool playing his bass live it completely reformed my opinion. They have a weird sound, funky and hard all at once that translates into one of the best shows I've been to in a long time. I had only ever heard the crowds favorite chant of "Primus sucks!" in a YouTube video, far from sucking, I even felt like joining in the shouts of fans on the subway much later on in the night. The songs they played that I recommend downloading were Jerry was a Race Car Driver, Over the Falls, and Tommy the Cat.
Cotton candy in the skyRich, LK, AJ and AJ's tongue
Enjoying beer and a breeze with Manhattan behind us.
There was nearly a beer shower
Moving through the crowd
Dancing, dancing, and dancing. I can't understand people who just nod their heads during a show.

We went to a nice little restaurant on Grand St. called Lodge where I ate delicious chicken fingers. They must have been too much for me because I took a little nap on the table. LK was imitating me while Rich took a picture. The flash didn't even wake me up.
