6.11.10

After work on Friday afternoon is my favorite time to nap, read, and write. One of my favorite things to do is open the window, and let the sun come through the curtain with all the street noise, and to read until I fall asleep. No music, no television. Just me and the sounds of my busy street and bright afternoon sun.
When I woke up I popped on one of my favorite records: The Kinks: One for the Road, and turned the volume way up. I was inspired by Allison's recent post.
While the Kinks were playing I started dinner. Sometimes I like to read while I cook to pass the time while I wait. Right now its Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami.
Local legumes.
I also like to drink wine while I cook and read. Also since I haven't made an outfit post in ages:
Aqua Bloomingdales dress circa 2006, Target Swiss dot button down, Vans
Edamame, quinoa cooked in miso broth, vino.

  1. Kallie you look so sweet! Ilove that you always wear sneakers with your skirts, I need to try to find some cute ones like that. I love my record player too! rumage sales are the best for finding old records, and I have to say I love all the colors in your house :)

**Do you still want to try to meet-up in Chicago? I know our schedules are so crazy right now, but it would be pretty cool :)

  11. oh sweet kallie, i don't even know where to start. First that FABULOUS blog with that amazing post! The wallpaper was (..... no words to describe...) and i LOVE that kind of shop even more IN FLORENCE, with all those products...hmm, wait, time to recover from that image again...
Well, then i came here and i realized we have, in fact, the same haircut ^^ (of course yours is much more cute with some discipline, mine on the contrary has some sort of strange personality) and THEN i saw your cooking and i felt i was looking to myself, cooking that kind of recipe, in my kitchen.
So, i don't even know how to say more than this..i loved your comment, your blog tip, your post and you made me smile :)
Thank you darling, for remembering me**

  16. This is adorable! And the food looks delicious!
I multi-task a ton too haha, though my multitasking while cooking usually leads to either a)burnt food or b) something really crappy like ramen because it's all I can do while multitasking!
